Reflection.

      Get Fit 12 will be my last PE class. I will now have no teacher telling me what to do and insuring I do something active five days a week for a whole semester. Thankfully Mrs. Phillips and the rest of the Get Fit class has helped me find new to stay active after this semester ends and I graduate in five months. With money being a problem I even learnt new, un expensive exercises that don't need any equipment. After doing the Nike Fitness App I realised I enjoyed it and got a really good work out from it so after school when I went home I down loaded it onto my phone so I can use the app at home.
   Being a senior PE class we went on a lot of Field trips. A few examples would be, dance, grouse grind and gymnastics. We didn't go on as much field trips as last year and as I wish we did because of the new bell schedule. I am thankful for the ones we did go on because I don't think I would of ever went and tried most of the stuff if it wasn't for this class and the field trips. My favourite field trip was snowshoeing. I didn't think I was going to have fun during the field trip and ever want to go back. But I was surprised when I noticed I had a lot of fun and went back the next weekend and I am probably going again this weekend or next weekend. I enjoyed my time snowshoeing because it was a really good work out and I got to see beautiful scenery while snowshoeing. I thought it was going to be really cold and I was going to complain the whole time there but it wasn't cold at all and I ended up taking off my first layer of clothing.
        At the beginning of the school year I found out I had knee problems that would limit what I could and was allowed to do in PE. Because of my injury I didn't get to go on all of the field trips and I had to sit out every now and then for a few minuets because my knee started to tightened up and was in a lot of pain. I started going to physio and it helped strengthen my knee a lot and I am now able to  do a lot more with my knee. When my knee starts to hurt I try and find a way to still do the activity or exercise with out hurting my knee as much so I dint have to sit out. A lot of the stuff we did in class also helped me strengthen my knee.
     Even with knee problems I still participated a lot and pushed my self as far as I can. I go home almost every day with my muscles were sore because of what we did that day in PE. In the beginning of the course I wasn't I didn't get that high when we did fitness testing, I couldn't run as fast and as far and I couldn't do as much in the weight room. Now that we only have three days left in this class I think I am now a lot more fit and can do a lot more in class. For that I'm really proud of my self.
      I never thought I could achieve so much in a PE class but I did. Thank-you Mrs. Phillips and my fellow class mates that have helped me reach father then my goals. I couldn't of done it with out your help. And I wish you the best with your many years to come in physical activity.

I find both of the above quotes inspirational for many different reasons. The quote by Arthur C. Clarke helps me remember that I have to work hard for what you want in life. Nothing is easy and nothing will just come to you. Even if you think that what you want in life is to hard and/or impossible to get, dont give up! because you wont know if its impossible untill you try. The quote by Milton Berel inspires me because it helps me remeber that if I want something in life and its not there for me and I do not have the opportunity to then I should find away and make my opportunities and not to give up because if I want bad enough and Im willing to work for it then I should be able to achive my goal.

Snowshoeing.

Last class we went to Seymour and we all went snowshoeing. I didnt think I wold enjoy iy but it ended up being a lot of fun and I want to go back! It was a lot of work and tiring. I dressed really warmly with lots of layers but ended up taking most of the layers off because I was hot and sweaty from working really hard. At first the snowshoes felt weird but afterwards I didnt even notice they were there.

Media and the impact it has on people and their body image

last week our class watched a movie about media and how effects people. I think that people should be a lot smarter and think before they put thinks on TV. When girls see girls on TV with big boobs ad little hips they think that they have to be like that which is impossible because those girls have been edited before being shown on TV. When boys see girls like that on TV they want their girlfriends to look like that.
The movie made me think a lot and has made me start thinking in new ways.

Feildtrips So Far

So far I have gone to two Fieldtrips so far. We went to Spltz which is a gymnastics place and Woo Kim which is a tae kwon do. I really enjoyed both of them. My favorite one was the tae kwon do feildtrip because I got to get my anger out. When we went the gymnastics I couldnt do much because my knees really hurt and I couldnt do flips beacuse it would make my knees worse.

September 19 2012

The first few weeks of Get Fit has been what I thought it would be since I took this class last year in grade 11. We have been doing alot of cardio and just working on bringing our heart rate up. Yesterday we went to the Grouse Gind but sadly I did not get to go because of my knee but I look forward to the many great feild trips we will have in semester one Get Fit.

My Goals

I just found out yesterday (september 18/12) I found out that I have bad knees and I need to go to Phsyio to strenghten my quads and to put my knees back in place. I am going to try and work on it in Get Fit as well. I also took this class to work on my body and so I will look good in my grad dress at the end of the year. Last but not least I want to work on doing push ups.
